Projects and workspace

Workspace tour

Navigate chat, Preview, Code, Application connections, History, and environment tools.

Workspace layout

On a large screen, the current chat and project tools share a resizable workspace. On a small screen, Amazi shows one surface at a time so chat and the application tools remain usable. Hiding chat gives the project tools the full width; opening the chat list lets you switch between the project's separate conversations.

Project tools

Open Chats and choose Active or Archived above the conversation list. In Active, New chat sits beside these filters. Use the arrows at the edges of overflowing suggestions to see more choices.

The right side contains the project tools:

  • Preview — the running development application.
  • Code — the project file tree and source download.
  • Database — managed tables, database export, and the separate Storage file browser.
  • Devices — Desktop availability; download the Windows, Linux, or Apple Silicon macOS installer.
  • Application connections — registered applications and their observed HTTP connections.
  • Integrations and Gateway — external and managed provider connections.
  • Environment — project variables, when the project supports them.
  • Settings — saved Project instructions, when editing is available.

The left side contains:

  • the active chat and chat list;
  • History for project files.

History is not a replacement for chat history or external data backup. Opening an earlier version temporarily switches the shared workspace source; returning restores the current source without creating a restore commit. The selected preview is shared by project members and uses live project data.

Where agent work temporarily blocks changes, Code, Environment, Integrations, Amazi AI Gateway, and History show a notice explaining the restriction. The notice appears above any plan restriction. Wait for the lock to clear before changing those settings or switching project versions; you can continue browsing the available content.

Working with several applications

Use the application selector in Preview or the catalog in Application connections to choose the part you want to inspect. Preview availability, public routing, environment access, editor adapters, and managed-database ownership are independent application capabilities. See Applications before changing that structure.

Application connections has separate Development and Production views. Open a connection to inspect its requests; see Preview, Code, and application connections for observation coverage and plan availability.

Header, chat, and workspace controls

The left header contains the project-name menu, the current chat control, Chats, and History. Chats opens the project's conversations; History is the file-version timeline, not the list of chat messages. Drag the separator between chat and workspace to resize panels. Hide chat gives the right-hand workspace more room.

The right header provides Preview, Code, Database, Application connections, Environment, Integrations, Amazi AI Gateway, Devices, and Settings. Some tabs collapse to icons when space is limited. The preview toolbar contains viewport, reload, application, route, and open-preview controls. Manage access and Publish are at the right of the header. Source download belongs to Code and follows code-management availability.

The composer contains the prompt, attachment control, element selector, voice action, and Send. Selected elements and context mentions use matching compact chips. Element chips show their HTML tag, such as h1, p, div, or span. Type @ to choose Attachments, Pages, Integrations, Projects, Amazi AI Gateway, User device, or Amazi Documentation. Attachments appears first and inserts references to attached images. Pages lists routes from the current preview application. Hover over a chip to reveal its removal cross, or focus it with the keyboard; on touch screens the cross stays visible. Hover or click an element chip's name to open Go to element and Go to file. Clicking a context chip's name opens its page, settings, or documentation. Voice input is free for signed-in users; sending the resulting request is billed normally. A credit notice links to topping up the balance. Work summaries, attachments, and credit usage belong to the corresponding agent reply.

Database contains a Database/Storage switch and a database download action. Storage has individual downloads and a ZIP download for selected files. Devices offers Windows, Linux, and Apple Silicon macOS installers. See Connected devices. Settings contains Project instructions, a Save action, and an explanation above the editor when editing is unavailable. The tab can remain visible even when the user's role or the owner's plan prevents changes. See Navigation and interface for the global sidebar and modal actions.
